Nielsen's unique market is full of hard-to-find products and is the go-to place for all of your grocery shopping needs.  We have a full-service deli with grass-fed California beef, Boar's Head deli meats, and Diestel turkey.  We sell salads and hot entrees some are homemade and prepared daily.  We sell custom made sandwiches and pre-made sandwiches and entrees.  We carry local and organic produce.  We have an award-winning wine and liquor depot and we are the oldest wine cellar in Carmel-by-the-Sea.  We are also Carmel's favorite landmark and established in 1930 by the Nielsen brothers who beat out about 21 other markets in the '30's with its innovative business strategy of delivering groceries, providing the best service to customers from knowledgeable staff who are on a first name basis with their customers.  Incidentally, many of our staff have seen generations of families that have visited Nielsen's since their childhood.


Nielsen's excels in making custom made gift baskets and we also deliver catering trays for those entertaining events throughout the year!  We are located near the Carmel Beach and visitors come to  buy sandwiches, snacks, fruits, wines, beverages, etc. to walk down to the end of Eighth street and picnic on the white sandy Carmel beach.  We are located on 7th and San Carlos on N.E.C.
